Short answer: in 2026 Dreamery prices bathrooms as labor plus rough materials — demolition, waterproofed shower, tile setting, vanity installation, fixtures, plumbing and electrical — and you buy the finish materials (tile, fixtures, a stock vanity) at retail with our exact shopping list, so there is no markup hidden in the number. A custom vanity from our Coral Springs shop is quoted as its own line. A small full bath (5×8) runs $12,000–$15,500 in labor at the Essential level, $15,000–$19,500 at Signature and $19,000–$24,500 at Premium, plus roughly 35–70% of that for finish materials. Powder rooms start around $6,000 in labor; primary suites run $24,000–$49,000. Turning a tub into a walk-in shower adds about 25%; a permit package about $3,500. What is inside the number
A bathroom quote is shorter than a kitchen quote, but the lines matter just as much when you compare companies:
| Line item | What it covers | What moves it |
|---|---|---|
| Demolition and disposal | Tub or shower, tile, vanity, floor; debris out | Tile on mortar bed vs. on board; second-floor rooms |
| Plumbing | Drain relocation for a tub-to-shower conversion, new valves, supply lines | How far the drain moves; cast-iron drains in older houses |
| Waterproofing and shower build | Sloped pan, membrane, curb or curbless detail, niche, bench | Curbless (more slab work), size, bench |
| Tile and stone | Floor, shower walls, sometimes full-height walls | Large-format porcelain vs. mosaic vs. natural stone; pattern |
| Vanity and storage from our shop | Vanity sized to the wall, linen tower, medicine cabinet | Width, drawers vs. doors, finish |
| Countertop, sinks, fixtures | Quartz top, undermount sinks, faucet, shower set, toilet | Fixture grade; two sinks vs. one |
| Glass | Frameless shower enclosure or panel | Size and configuration |
| Electrical and ventilation | Lighting, GFCI outlets, properly sized exhaust fan | New circuits; fan ducted through the roof |
| Permits and project management | City or county permit, inspections, association paperwork | Condo packages |
Three shapes of project
- Tub-to-shower conversion in an otherwise sound bathroom. The tub comes out, a waterproofed walk-in shower goes in, the vanity and lighting are updated. The most common project in Boca Raton’s and Delray’s country-club and 55+ communities, and the lower half of the range.
- Full gut of a 1950s–70s bathroom. Everything to the studs, drains and supply lines replaced, floor releveled, new layout. Typical of Fort Lauderdale, East Boca and Delray ranch homes — the middle to upper part of the range, mostly because of plumbing.
- Two bathrooms at once. The primary and a hall or kids’ bath in one project: one permit, one crew, one schedule. In 2026 two full bathrooms in Miramar came to about $31,000 including materials billed at cost — noticeably less than two separate projects.
What moves a bathroom up or down the range
- Moving the drain. A shower where the tub was is usually a short move; a new layout in a condo may not be possible at all because of the stack.
- Curbless. A true curbless shower needs the slab recessed or the floor built up — more labor than a low curb.
- Tile choice. Large-format porcelain is fast to lay; small mosaics and natural stone take longer and cost more per square foot.
- Old plumbing. Cast-iron drains under a 1960s slab often need replacing while the room is open; we look during the consultation and price it up front.
- Condo logistics. Elevator, work hours and the board package add time more than money.
How to compare two quotes
- Ask how the shower is waterproofed — pan, membrane, and what goes behind the tile. “Cement board and tile” is not a waterproofing system.
- Ask whether the vanity is a stock box or built to the wall, and what the box is made of.
- Check that permits, demolition and disposal are included.
- Ask how the price can change after signing. Ours is fixed in the contract; additions are priced in writing before they are done.
