What Hollywood kitchens ask for
Hollywood has some of the oldest housing in Broward, and the kitchens come in three distinct kinds. In Hollywood Lakes and the streets around Young Circle, the houses are 1920s–1950s Mediterranean and mid-century homes with small, closed kitchens off a dining room, plaster walls and original cast-iron plumbing. Owners want the wall opened, the ceiling height used, and cabinetry that suits the house — inset or beaded doors, painted finishes, a furniture-style island. Because we build the cabinets ourselves, that is a design decision rather than a special order.
In Emerald Hills and Hollywood Hills the homes are 1960s and 1970s ranches, many on the golf course, with a galley or L-shaped kitchen, a soffit and a pass-through. The project there is layout: soffit out, cabinets to the ceiling, the pass-through opened, a real island where a peninsula stood.
On the beach and along the Intracoastal, the kitchens are in condos where the plumbing stack fixes the layout and the building fixes the schedule. We design within the stack and prepare the board package before anything is ordered.

What Dreamery kitchens cost in 2026: a standard kitchen (15–25 linear ft of cabinets) runs $19,000–$24,500 at the Essential level, $31,500–$41,000 at Signature and $42,000–$54,500 at Premium — turnkey without appliances: demolition, custom cabinets from our own factory, countertops, backsplash, plumbing and electrical, installation and project management. Small galley kitchens start around $14,000; large kitchens with an island run $26,000–$75,000 depending on finish. A permit package (about $3,500), condo logistics and layout changes are priced on top — the calculator below accounts for them. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), credited in full when you go ahead with the project.

Historic homes, condos and permits in Hollywood
Kitchen work with plumbing, electrical or structural changes is permitted through the City of Hollywood and inspected at rough-in and final — routine, and included in project management. Parts of Hollywood Lakes carry historic designation; the review applies to the outside of the house, so an interior kitchen remodel is not subject to it, but a new window or an exterior vent on a street-facing wall is, and we plan for that in the design. Beach and Intracoastal condos add board approval, insurance certificates and work-hour rules, all prepared by our coordinator.
In the 1920s–1950s houses, the original wiring and galvanized supply lines are usually still behind the plaster. We check during the consultation and, if they need replacing, put it in the itemized quote up front rather than discovering it mid-project.

Yes — that is where an in-house cabinet shop matters. Inset doors, beaded frames, furniture-style islands and painted finishes are built to your drawings. The interior of a historic-district home is not subject to historic review; only exterior changes are.
