Bathrooms in Sunrise homes
Sunrise built most of its homes in the 1970s and 1980s: by Census estimates six in ten date from those two decades. A third are in buildings of 20 units or more, and Sunrise Lakes alone is a 55+ community built in four phases from the early 1970s.
If the goal is a bathroom that is easy to use for years, the tub can give way to a walk-in shower with a low threshold, or none where the slab allows, a bench and a hand shower. Blocking goes into the walls while they are open, so grab bars can go up where the blocking is, now or later. The vanity gets drawers you can reach without kneeling. In a 1970s house the bathroom may still have its original layout. Drains of that age may be cast iron, and if the section under the room needs replacing, you see it in the price before the work goes on.

What Dreamery bathrooms cost in 2026: a fixed labor price plus an itemized shopping list. You buy the finish materials (tile, fixtures, a stock vanity) at retail from our exact shopping list with no markup, or we build a custom vanity in our Coral Springs shop and quote it as its own line. A small full bath (5×8) runs $12,000–$15,500 in labor at the Essential level, $15,000–$19,500 at Signature and $19,000–$24,500 at Premium, plus roughly 35–70% of that for finish materials. Powder rooms start around $6,000; primary suites run $24,000–$49,000 in labor. Turning a tub into a walk-in shower adds about 25%. The in-home measure and the written, itemized estimate are free. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), free when you sign the contract.
Every bathroom gets a fixed labor price and an itemized shopping list, with no markup: demolition, waterproofing, tile and stone setting, vanity and fixture installation, plumbing and electrical changes and project management are priced in writing before work starts. You buy the finish materials from the shopping list at store price, so nothing hides in an allowance.
When the vanity and storage come from our own shop, you skip the showroom markup on the cabinetry line. Promotional financing is available for qualified buyers through our lending partners; pre-qualification takes about a minute with a soft credit pull.

Sunrise Lakes and other condo communities
The apartments in Sunrise Lakes' first phase run from about 620 to 850 square feet, with one or two bathrooms. In an apartment that size, the shower can take the tub's footprint and the vanity is built to the inch in our Coral Springs shop.
In a condo the association approves the work before it starts, sets the hours and decides how materials come in. The shower drain stays within reach of the building's stack. We get the rules first and plan around them.

We live in Sunrise Lakes. Can the tub become a shower?
In most units it can, as long as the shower drain can reach the building's stack with proper slope; the association approves the plan before work starts. Where the floor allows, we build a low-threshold shower with a bench and a hand shower.
How low can the shower threshold be?
It depends on the floor and where the drain is. A low curb of a couple of inches is the simpler build; a curbless floor needs the slab recessed or the floor built up around the shower, where the slab allows. We check at the consultation.
Can you add grab bars?
We add blocking in the walls while they are open, at the spots you choose, so bars can be mounted there now or years later without opening the tile.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Sunrise?
We quote a fixed labor price; you buy the finish materials at retail from our shopping list, and nothing is marked up. A small full bath runs $12,000–$15,500 in labor at the Essential level, and turning the tub into a walk-in shower adds about 25%. In a condo the calculator adds 15% plus a fixed amount.
Can the vanity be easier to use?
Yes. A vanity from our shop can have drawers instead of doors and a height that suits you. It is sized to the wall, with all-plywood boxes and soft-close hardware.
How long will the bathroom be out of use?
That depends on the scope, and in a condo on the association's approval and hours. The finish date is written into your contract before we start.
