By Census estimates three in four Hollywood homes were built before 1980, and the median home dates from 1969. Many bathrooms here sit in houses and buildings from the 1950s, 1960s or 1970s.
If yours is a room about 5 by 8 feet with a tub-shower combination, one plan keeps the room and changes what is in it. The tub gives way to a walk-in shower with glass and a niche, the vanity gets drawers and a quartz top, and the lighting and the exhaust fan are sized for the room.
Houses of that age may have cast-iron drains and galvanized supply lines. If the section under the bathroom turns out to need replacing, you see the price before that work goes on.

A small full bath (5×8) runs $12,000–$15,500 in labor at the Essential level, $15,000–$19,500 at Signature and $19,000–$24,500 at Premium, plus roughly 35–70% of that for finish materials. Powder rooms start around $6,000; primary suites run $24,000–$49,000 in labor. Turning a tub into a walk-in shower adds about 25%. The in-home measure and the written, itemized estimate are free. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), free when you sign the contract.
Every bathroom gets a fixed labor price and an itemized shopping list, with no markup: demolition, waterproofing, tile and stone setting, vanity and fixture installation, plumbing and electrical changes and project management are priced in writing before work starts. You buy the finish materials from the shopping list at store price, so nothing hides in an allowance.

Beach-area condos and Hollywood Lakes
About 30% of Hollywood homes are in buildings of 20 units or more. In a condo the shower drain stays within reach of the building's stack, the association approves the work before it starts, and noisy days follow the posted hours. We prepare the drawings and our part of the package from the 3D design.
In Hollywood Lakes, where some houses go back to Joseph Young's 1920s town, the bathroom can follow the house: hex or patterned floor tile, a vanity with legs or an inset front built in our shop, fittings in an aged finish.

A shower in the tub's footprint, about 30 by 60 inches, with a glass panel or door, a niche at shoulder height and a hand shower. Where the wall allows, a recessed medicine cabinet adds storage without taking floor space.
Do old cast-iron drains have to be replaced?
Not always. Where the drain under the bathroom is sound, it stays. Where it is cracked or corroded, replacing the section while the floor is already open costs less than coming back to it later. You see that line in the quote, or in a written change order if it only shows up after demolition.
Can you remodel a bathroom in a Hollywood beach condo?
Yes. We design within the building's stack, prepare our part of the association's package, give building management a certificate of insurance and work within the building's hours and elevator bookings.
How much does a bathroom remodel cost in Hollywood?

Can the vanity fit a narrow wall?
Yes. Our shop builds vanities to the inch, with all-plywood boxes and soft-close drawers, so a narrow wall gets a vanity that uses all of it. A stock vanity from the shopping list is the other option.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
It depends on the scope. Swapping a tub for a shower is quicker than a full gut, and condo approval comes before the start date. Your contract carries the finish date.
