What Plantation kitchens ask for
Plantation is older than the cities west of it, and its kitchens show a wider spread. In Jacaranda, Jacaranda Lakes and the streets around the country club, the houses are 1970s and early-1980s: a closed kitchen with a soffit, a pass-through to the family room, dark cabinets and a laminate counter. In Plantation Park and the eastern 1960s ranches, the kitchens are smaller still, often with a wall that everyone wants gone. And in Plantation Acres, on the acre-plus lots west of Hiatus Road, the homes are larger, often custom-built, and the kitchen is the working centre of a family with boots, dogs and a horse trailer in the drive.
The projects differ, but the questions are the same three: can the wall come out, can the soffit go, and can a peninsula become an island. In most Plantation homes the answer is yes to all three, and the difference between a good result and a bad one is whether the load-bearing wall was engineered and permitted properly and whether the cabinets were built to the room instead of filled out with spacers. Because we build the cabinets in our own Coral Springs shop, twenty minutes away, they are made to the wall you have.

Six questions, sixty seconds, one honest range built from what we actually charge in South Florida — not a national average from a website that has never seen your kitchen.
What it costs in 2026
What Dreamery kitchens cost in 2026: a standard kitchen (15–25 linear ft of cabinets) runs $19,000–$24,500 at the Essential level, $31,500–$41,000 at Signature and $42,000–$54,500 at Premium — turnkey without appliances: demolition, custom cabinets from our own factory, countertops, backsplash, plumbing and electrical, installation and project management. Small galley kitchens start around $14,000; large kitchens with an island run $26,000–$75,000 depending on finish. A permit package (about $3,500), condo logistics and layout changes are priced on top — the calculator below accounts for them. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), credited in full when you go ahead with the project.
Every project gets one written, itemized price that is fixed before work starts — cabinets, countertops, labor, permits and project management on one page. No allowances that quietly grow later.
Because the cabinets come from our own shop, you skip the showroom markup: the same all-plywood, dovetail-drawer construction at direct-from-manufacturer pricing. Promotional financing is available for qualified buyers through our lending partners; pre-qualification takes about a minute with a soft credit pull.

Older pipes, bearing walls and permits in Plantation
Kitchen work with plumbing, electrical or structural changes is permitted through the City of Plantation with inspections at rough-in and final; that is routine and included. Plantation Acres and the older eastern neighbourhoods often have no HOA at all; the 1980s and later communities usually have contractor-access rules, which our coordinator checks before the schedule is set.
What we look at on the first visit in a 1960s or 1970s Plantation house: galvanized supply lines and cast-iron drains that may be near the end of their life, the original 100-amp panel that may not carry a modern induction range or a second oven, and the wall to the family room, which is load-bearing more often than not. None of it is a problem — all of it belongs in the itemized quote before you sign, not in a change order after demolition.

Questions homeowners ask us
Can you open the wall between the kitchen and family room?
In most Plantation homes, yes. Where the wall is load-bearing it means an engineered beam, a permit and an inspection — routine work that we price in the itemized quote before you sign.
How long does a kitchen remodel take in Plantation?
A typical kitchen is 4–6 weeks from signed contract to final walkthrough. Opening a load-bearing wall adds engineering and an inspection stage. The finish date is written into your contract.
Will my older electrical panel handle a new kitchen?
We check the panel and the circuits during the consultation. Where a modern range, oven or induction cooktop needs more capacity, the electrical work is planned and priced up front as part of the same project.
Do you handle City of Plantation permits?
Yes. Permits for plumbing, electrical and structural work go through the City of Plantation and are pulled by our coordinator. It is part of project management, not an extra fee.
Where do your cabinets come from?
We design and manufacture them in-house in Coral Springs, about 20 minutes from Plantation. All-plywood boxes, solid-wood dovetail drawers and soft-close hardware are standard, at direct-from-manufacturer pricing.
Which Plantation areas do you serve?
All of Plantation: Jacaranda, Jacaranda Lakes, Plantation Acres, Plantation Park, Central Park, Hawks Landing and the eastern neighbourhoods — plus neighbouring Sunrise, Davie and Lauderhill.
