Kitchens for Pinecrest ranch houses and new custom homes
The Village of Pinecrest traces its character to the ranch-style houses built on acre lots in the 1950s and 60s. Many of those houses are still there, long and low under the trees. Others have been added onto or replaced with much larger homes. A kitchen job here is usually one of two kinds.
In an original ranch, the kitchen is often closed off from the family room, with the pool beyond it. The usual plan is to open it toward the back, and how easy that is depends on whether the wall carries the roof. In a newer house the room is already big. There the work is about using the space well: an island sized to the room, a real pantry, built-in appliances, and lighting for a kitchen that gets used all day.

Small galley kitchens start around $14,000; large kitchens with an island run $26,000–$75,000 depending on finish. Condo logistics and layout changes are priced on top, and the calculator accounts for them. Acre lots, ranch houses and the new homes replacing them
Pinecrest became a village in 1996. It is mostly single-family houses on large lots, from subdivisions like Pine Tree Estates and Suniland Estates to gated enclaves off Old Cutler Road such as Cutler Bay Estates. Along Old Cutler and elsewhere, some original ranch lots now carry houses built in the last few years.
A 1950s or 60s ranch brings what houses of that age bring: cast-iron drain lines, an interior wall that may carry the roof, and a kitchen that was never meant to face the pool. We look at each of those during the measure, so the design and the price account for them from the start. In a newer custom home the structure is rarely the issue; the job is cabinetry, layout and appliances at a bigger scale.
Our Coral Springs shop is about 65 minutes from Pinecrest. The cabinets come down finished, and one project manager runs the install from demolition to walkthrough.

Can you open our ranch kitchen toward the family room and the pool?
Usually, and it is a common plan for houses of this age. The deciding factor is the wall between them: if it carries the roof, it needs a beam, which adds cost and time; if it is a partition, the job is much simpler. We find out at the measure, then place the island or peninsula so whoever is at the sink can see the pool.
How big should the island be in a large Pinecrest kitchen?
Big enough to work at, not so big you spend the day walking around it. The NKBA planning guidelines (we are members) call for at least 42 inches of aisle for one cook and 48 inches where two people cook. Stone sets a limit too: a standard quartz slab is about 10 feet long and most jumbo slabs about 11, so a longer top usually needs a seam, and we show you where it falls.
Our Pinecrest house has high-end built-in appliances. Can we keep them?
Usually, yes. Give us the exact model numbers and the cabinet openings are built to them, including panel-ready fridges and dishwashers. If you are buying new appliances, choose them before the cabinets go into production, because each opening is sized to a specific model.
Your shop is in Coral Springs. Do you really work this far south?
Yes. The designer comes to you for the consultation and the measure, the cabinets travel as finished boxes, and your designer, project manager and installation crew work as one Dreamery team, on the same kind of schedule they keep for a job in Broward.
How long does a large kitchen take in Pinecrest?
For a typical kitchen, expect 4–6 weeks from contract to installation. A bigger room with more cabinets, or a structural change to a wall, can take longer; if it does, the longer date goes into the contract from the beginning. Either way the finish date carries a penalty schedule for delays on our side.
