Short answer: most custom outdoor kitchens we build in South Florida land between $24,000 and $48,000. Entry-level grill islands start around $12,000, and luxury builds with pizza ovens and bar seating run $60,000+. Here’s exactly where the money goes — and where it’s safe to save.

What actually drives the price
- Size and layout. A straight 8-ft grill run is one budget; an L-shape with an island and seating is another. Every added linear foot means more cabinetry, more countertop, and more utilities.
- Cabinetry material. This is the decision that separates a 20-year outdoor kitchen from a 3-year one. We install LIOHER weatherproof European cabinetry — waterproof engineered panels rated for direct water contact (EN 335 Class 4) with a 50-year material warranty and stainless hardware. Wood-based boxes, even “sealed” ones, don’t survive Florida rain and humidity.
- Countertops. Granite is the workhorse; UV-stable ultracompact surfaces (sintered stone) take direct sun without fading and shrug off hot pans.
- Appliances. A quality built-in grill alone spans $1,500–$8,000+. Add an outdoor-rated fridge, side burner, or pizza oven and the appliance package can be a third of the project.
- Utilities. How far gas, water, and power have to travel from the house matters more than most owners expect.
The three budget tiers, honestly
Entry — $12,000–$24,000. A compact 6–8 ft grill island: weatherproof cabinetry, granite top, quality built-in grill, storage. No plumbing, minimal electrical. The right call for covered lanais and smaller patios.
Mid-range — $24,000–$48,000 (most of our projects). A 10–16 ft run or L-shape: full weatherproof cabinetry, ultracompact or granite counters, built-in grill, outdoor-rated refrigerator, sink, task lighting. This is the tier where an outdoor kitchen stops being a grill station and becomes a second kitchen.
Luxury — $60,000+. U-shapes and islands with bar seating, pizza oven, premium appliance packages, and finishes matched to the interior kitchen.

Why cheap outdoor kitchens fail here
South Florida is the toughest environment in the country for cabinetry: daily humidity, sideways summer rain, salt air near the coast, and UV that bleaches finishes. Builds that fail share the same autopsy — swollen panels, corroded hinges, faded doors. That’s why we specify materials by test rating, not by brochure adjectives, and why the cabinetry we install carries a 50-year material warranty. It’s also why our outdoor kitchen page shows the actual finishes and the full catalog — what you pick is what gets built.
Timeline and payment
Design first (you approve a 3D layout and a written, itemized price — fixed before we start), cabinetry is produced, then construction typically takes 4–6 weeks on site. Start in late summer and you’re cooking outside by the holidays. Flexible financing options may be available for qualified buyers.
How to budget without surprises
- Decide the appliance list first — it anchors the layout and a third of the cost.
- Insist on an itemized quote: cabinetry, counters, appliances, utilities — each as its own line.
- Ask what the cabinetry is rated for, not what it’s “suitable” for.
- Planning an interior remodel too? Bundling the indoor kitchen into one project saves mobilization costs and keeps finishes consistent — especially popular with our Parkland clients.
