Sunrise kitchens from the 1970s and 1980s
Sunrise began in 1960 as Sunrise Golf Village, took its present name in 1971, and had its first real growth in the 1970s, as Broward pushed west. By Census estimates about a third of its homes date from the 1970s and more than a quarter from the 1980s. A fifth are in buildings of 20 to 49 units.
With new cabinets, the door finish is the biggest choice after the layout. Our Essential level has shaker or flat-panel doors from our own shop; Signature adds painted and wood-veneer doors; Premium adds gloss and Fenix surfaces and handleless fronts. The designer brings door and finish samples to your kitchen, because a finish looks different under your own light than it does in a showroom.

Know what your kitchen remodel costs before anyone walks through your door.
A few quick questions, one honest range built from what we actually charge in South Florida — not a national average from a website that has never seen your kitchen.
What it costs in 2026
What Dreamery projects cost in 2026: a standard kitchen (15–25 linear ft of cabinets) runs $19,000–$24,500 at the Essential level, more for larger layouts and premium finishes; bathrooms from $6,000 for a powder room to $38,000–$49,000 in labor for a Premium primary suite, plus finish materials you buy at retail; flooring $10–18 per sq ft with a $3,000 minimum; whole-home renovations $35–75 per sq ft of living area. Every number comes from our own signed contracts, not a national average — get the range for your project in the calculator. The in-home measure and the written, itemized estimate are free. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), free when you sign the contract.
Cabinets are quoted per project, not per foot from a brochure: the price depends on the number of boxes, door style, finish and hardware. Your 3D design comes with one written, itemized quote where the cabinet line is shown separately from countertops and labor.
Because the cabinets come from our own shop, you skip the showroom markup: the same all-plywood, dovetail-drawer construction at direct-from-manufacturer pricing. Promotional financing is available for qualified buyers through our lending partners; pre-qualification takes about a minute with a soft credit pull.

Sunrise Lakes and the condo communities
Sunrise Lakes, a 55+ condominium community built in four phases, began in the early 1970s; the apartments in its first phase run from about 620 to 850 square feet. In an apartment that size the kitchen is compact, so the storage plan matters: wall cabinets to the ceiling where nothing is in the soffit, drawers instead of deep base shelves, and everyday dishes below shoulder height.
In Sunrise Lakes and the other condo communities, the association sets work hours, deliveries and contractor rules. We get them before the schedule is set, and the designer measures the way in, stairs or elevator, along with the kitchen.

Questions homeowners ask us
Painted, veneer or gloss: how do the finishes differ?
Paint gives a smooth, even color. Wood veneer is a thin layer of real wood, so it shows the grain and varies from door to door. Gloss reflects light and suits a modern kitchen, and Fenix has a deep matte surface. The 3D design shows your choice in your own kitchen before you sign.
We live in Sunrise Lakes. Can you replace our kitchen cabinets?
Yes. We get the association's rules first, plan the kitchen around the plumbing that is there, and build the cabinets to the unit's measurements.
Can corner cabinets be more useful?
Yes. A blind corner can take a pull-out that brings the back of the cabinet forward, and an L-shaped corner can take a pair of drawers that turn the corner. Both are planned in the 3D design.
How are new cabinets priced in Sunrise?
Per project, with the cabinet line on its own in the itemized quote. For the whole kitchen, turnkey without appliances, the calculator gives $14,000–$18,000 for a galley at the Essential level and $31,500–$41,000 for a standard L or U kitchen at Signature, with painted or veneer doors and planned storage.
What are the boxes made of?
All plywood, with dovetail drawers and soft-close hinges and slides, whatever finish the doors have. That construction is standard on every kitchen we build.
How long does it take to get new cabinets?
The 3D design and the written price come within 5 business days of the consultation. The shop starts after you sign, and a typical kitchen is finished 4–6 weeks after signing. In a condo, the association's approval comes first.
