Cabinets for Weston's family kitchens
Weston was planned by Arvida as Indian Trace, renamed in the early 1980s, and its first homes, in Country Isles and Windmill Ranch, were finished in 1984. Most of the city followed in one decade: by Census estimates half of today's homes were built in the 1990s, and nearly half of all homes have four bedrooms or more.
If several people use the kitchen, the cabinets can do more than hold dishes. Beyond the cooking area, they can hold a drop zone by the garage door for bags and keys, a beverage station with its own refrigerator, and a counter with drawers for homework or bills. What is a drop zone, and where does it go?
A short run of cabinets near the door you use most, usually from the garage, with cubbies for bags and a drawer for keys and mail. It keeps the kitchen counter clear, and it can match the kitchen cabinets.
Can we put a beverage refrigerator in the island?
Yes, if you choose the model before production. The opening is built to it, with the clearances the manufacturer specifies, and the island end can be finished to match the doors.
Our cabinets are 1990s raised-panel. Could we just paint them?
Paint changes the color but keeps the raised panels. Refacing changes the door shape and the hinges on the existing boxes. New cabinets change the storage and the layout too. Our cabinet refacing page compares the three.
How are new cabinets priced in Weston?
