Kitchens from Boynton's 1970s and 1980s
Boynton Beach went from about 18,000 residents in 1970 to about 35,600 in 1980, and the 1970s and 1980s together built close to half of the homes standing today. After I-95 came through in the late 1960s and early 1970s, new building moved west with it. Many of the homes from those decades are condos and villas in 55+ and golf communities such as Leisureville and Hunters Run, and older neighborhoods such as Lake Boynton Estates have houses from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Many of those kitchens are small. In Village Royale on the Green, a 55+ condo community built from 1969 to 1983, the apartments run from about 730 to 1,150 square feet. In apartments that size the kitchen is compact, and the cabinets do the work: deep drawers instead of base doors you kneel in front of, pull-outs in the corners, a pantry built into a wall, and the everyday dishes kept below shoulder height.

Cabinets are quoted per project, not per foot from a brochure: the price depends on the number of boxes, door style, finish and hardware. Your 3D design comes with one written, itemized quote where the cabinet line is shown separately from countertops and labor.

Working in 55+ and gated communities
Many of Boynton's 55+ and gated communities ask contractors to register, keep to posted weekday hours, and book the service elevator or a parking spot for deliveries. We get those rules from the association before the schedule is set.
Our shop is about 40 minutes south in Coral Springs. The designer brings door and finish samples to your home, measures, and shows the cabinets in 3D in your own kitchen before you sign.

We are in a 55+ community. What cabinet changes make a kitchen easier to use?
Drawers instead of base doors, so nothing is stored at the back of a deep cabinet. Pull-outs in the corners. A pantry with roll-out shelves. Everyday dishes on the lowest shelf of the wall cabinets, and lighting under them. The 3D design shows where everything goes before you commit.
Is custom worth it in a small condo kitchen?
Usually, yes. Stock boxes leave filler strips at the ends of a short run, and in a small kitchen those inches matter. Built to the wall, the run gets a drawer bank or a pull-out there instead, and the wall cabinets can go to the ceiling.
Can you work within my community's rules?
Yes. We get the association's rules on contractor registration, work hours and deliveries before the schedule is set, and plan the work around them.
What are the cabinet boxes made of?
All plywood, with solid-wood dovetail drawers and soft-close hinges and slides. That is standard on every Dreamery kitchen, not an upgrade, and it holds up to Florida humidity far better than particleboard.
How long from design to installed cabinets?
The 3D design and one itemized price arrive within 5 business days of the consultation. After you sign, the cabinets are built in our Coral Springs shop, and a typical kitchen is finished 4–6 weeks after the contract is signed.
Can I pay for my kitchen over time?
Promotional financing options may be available for qualified buyers through our lending partners. Pre-qualification takes about a minute with a soft credit pull that does not affect your score. Dreamery is not a lender; offers are subject to lender approval.
