Custom Kitchen Cabinets in Fort Lauderdale
Two kinds of kitchen here: a 1950s ranch with plaster walls that are not square, and a condo where everything arrives through one service elevator. Cabinets built to measure handle both.
- Built to the measured wall, not to a catalog size
- All-plywood boxes for salt air and year-round humidity
- Condo insurance, elevator and work-hour rules handled
- 3D design $99 (reg. $500) — credited to your project
What Fort Lauderdale kitchens do to cabinetry
In Coral Ridge, Imperial Point and Victoria Park the houses are 1950s and 60s ranches: plaster over block, eight-foot ceilings, a soffit above the wall cabinets and a run that is often half an inch out of square from one end to the other. Stock boxes come in fixed widths, so the gaps get covered with filler strips and the corner becomes dead space. We measure the opening and build to it, which is why a cabinet run in one of these houses can look like it was framed with the room.
The other half of the work is vertical. In the condos along Galt Ocean Mile, Las Olas Isles and the Intracoastal, walls usually cannot move without the board, so storage has to come out of the same footprint: uppers to the ceiling instead of a soffit, drawer banks instead of doors, a pantry built into the depth you already have.
And everything here lives in salt air. Boxes are all-plywood rather than particleboard, which swells first at the sink and under the dishwasher — see framed vs frameless for what the construction difference actually buys you, or the Fort Lauderdale kitchen page if you are remodeling the whole room.

Fort Lauderdale, FL · Instant estimate
Know what your kitchen remodel costs before anyone walks through your door.
Six questions, sixty seconds, one honest range built from what we actually charge in South Florida — not a national average from a website that has never seen your kitchen.
What it costs in 2026
What Dreamery projects cost in 2026: a standard kitchen (15–25 linear ft of cabinets) runs $19,000–$24,500 at the Essential level, more for larger layouts and premium finishes; bathrooms from $6,000 for a powder room to $38,000–$49,000 in labor for a Premium primary suite, plus finish materials you buy at retail; flooring $10–18 per sq ft with a $3,000 minimum; whole-home renovations $35–75 per sq ft of living area. Every number comes from our own signed contracts, not a national average — get the range for your project below. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), credited in full when you go ahead.
Cabinets are quoted per project, not per foot from a brochure: the price depends on the number of boxes, door style, finish and hardware. Your 3D design comes with one written, itemized quote where the cabinet line is shown separately from countertops, labor and permits.
Because the cabinets come from our own shop, you skip the showroom markup: the same all-plywood, dovetail-drawer construction at direct-from-manufacturer pricing. Promotional financing is available for qualified buyers through our lending partners; pre-qualification takes about a minute with a soft credit pull.
For full-kitchen price ranges see our kitchen remodel cost guide, and framed vs frameless for what the two constructions cost and look like.
Getting cabinets into a Fort Lauderdale building
Plumbing and electrical work is permitted through the City of Fort Lauderdale and inspected at rough-in and final; it is part of project management, not a line you chase. In a condo there is a second set of paperwork: a certificate of insurance naming the association, approved work hours, a booked service elevator and floor protection in the corridors. Our coordinator files that package before the schedule is set, because a delivery that arrives without an elevator slot costs a day.
Final measurements are taken on the demolished room, not on the drawing — on plaster walls that is the difference between scribed cabinets and visible gaps. The shop is about 30 minutes up the road in Coral Springs, so a scuffed door or a wrong hinge is a same-week fix rather than a reorder from another state.

Questions homeowners ask us
Can you build cabinets for a Fort Lauderdale condo where the walls cannot move?
That is most of our condo work. The layout stays, the storage changes: wall cabinets run to the ceiling instead of stopping at a soffit, base cabinets become drawer banks, and the pantry is built into the depth already there. We handle the association package — insurance certificate, work hours, elevator booking — before the first delivery.
My kitchen wall is plaster and nothing is square. Is that a problem?
It is normal in the 1950s and 60s houses here, and it is the reason to build rather than buy. Final measurements are taken after demolition, the boxes are cut to those numbers and the end panels are scribed to the wall, so you do not end up with filler strips covering the difference.
Do plywood boxes really matter in Fort Lauderdale?
Near the water and with the air conditioning cycling all year, yes. Particleboard swells where water gets in first — under the sink, beside the dishwasher — and once it swells the door stops closing square. All-plywood boxes are standard on every project, not an upgrade.
Can I keep my appliances and just change the cabinets?
Usually yes. Bring the model numbers to the consultation: the designer builds the openings around the appliances you are keeping, including panel-ready fronts if you want the fridge or dishwasher to disappear into the run.
How long from the consultation to installed cabinets?
The 3D design and itemized quote arrive within 5 business days. After the contract is signed the shop builds while the permit is in review, and a typical kitchen is installed 4–6 weeks later. The finish date is written into the contract.
