What Boca Raton bathrooms need

Boca Raton has three kinds of bathroom, and each remodels differently. In the country-club communities — Boca West, Broken Sound, Woodfield, Boca Pointe, St. Andrews — most primary baths date from the late 1980s and 1990s: a corner garden tub under a glass-block window, a small separate shower, cultured-marble counters, a strip of Hollywood lights over one long mirror. The tub is rarely used and the shower is too small. The typical project removes the tub, builds a large curbless or low-curb walk-in shower where it stood, and replaces the double vanity with one built to the wall — with real drawers instead of a cabinet you kneel into.

In East Boca, the older ranch homes east of Federal Highway often have 5-by-8 hall bathrooms with a cast-iron tub and original tile. These are full gut renovations: the plumbing is checked and often replaced back to the stack, the floor is releveled, and the layout is rethought so a 40-square-foot room finally gets storage and a shower two people can use.

Along the coast and in the condos off A1A and the Intracoastal, the bathroom is limited by the building: drains cannot move far, work hours are set by the association, and every change needs board approval. We prepare the association package, schedule around the building's rules, and design within the existing plumbing stack so approvals do not stall.

What it costs in 2026

What Dreamery bathrooms cost in 2026: we price bathrooms as labor plus rough materials. You buy the finish materials (tile, fixtures, a stock vanity) at retail from our exact shopping list with no markup, or we build a custom vanity in our Coral Springs shop and quote it as its own line. A small full bath (5×8) runs $12,000–$15,500 in labor at the Essential level, $15,000–$19,500 at Signature and $19,000–$24,500 at Premium, plus roughly 35–70% of that for finish materials. Powder rooms start around $6,000; primary suites run $24,000–$49,000 in labor. Turning a tub into a walk-in shower adds about 25%; a permit package about $3,500. 3D design package: $99 (regularly $500), credited in full when you go ahead with the project.

Every bathroom gets one written, itemized price for the work, fixed before work starts: demolition, waterproofing, tile and stone setting, vanity and fixture installation, plumbing and electrical changes, permits and project management on one page. Finish materials go on a separate shopping list, so nothing hides in an allowance.

When the vanity and storage come from our own shop, you skip the showroom markup on the cabinetry line. Promotional financing is available for qualified buyers through our lending partners; pre-qualification takes about a minute with a soft credit pull.

Permits, HOAs and condo boards in Boca Raton

Inside the city limits, bathroom work that touches plumbing or electrical is permitted through the City of Boca Raton; west of the city line — much of West Boca — permits go through Palm Beach County. Both are routine for us and included in project management. Gated communities add an architectural review for anything visible from outside, and coastal condos add board approval, insurance certificates and building work-hour rules. We handle the paperwork and schedule around it; you sign, we file.

One practical note for older Boca homes: the cast-iron drain lines under 1960s–70s slabs are often near the end of their life. During the consultation we look at the drains before we design around them, so a shower conversion does not turn into a surprise mid-project.

Questions homeowners ask us

Can you convert my garden tub into a walk-in shower?

Yes — it is the most common bathroom project we do in Boca Raton's country-club homes. The tub platform comes out, the drain is relocated, a properly sloped pan and waterproofing membrane go in, then tile, a niche or bench, and frameless glass. The plumbing is inspected before the shower is closed up.

How long does a bathroom remodel take in Boca Raton?

It depends on scope: a shower or vanity update is much faster than a full gut renovation, and condo approvals add lead time before work starts. Whatever the scope, the finish date goes into your contract in writing, with a penalty schedule for delays on our side.

Do you handle HOA and condo association approvals?

Yes. We prepare the drawings, insurance certificates and contractor documents the association asks for, and schedule the work within the building's hours. It is part of project management, not an extra fee.

Do you build the vanities yourselves?

Yes. Vanities, linen towers and medicine cabinets are built in our Coral Springs shop — all-plywood boxes, dovetail drawers, soft-close hardware — sized to your wall and matched to your tile. No showroom markup on the cabinetry line.

Can I see the design before committing?

Yes. The in-home consultation is free. The 3D design package — a rendering of your new bathroom plus one itemized price within 5 business days — is $99 instead of the regular $500, and the $99 is credited in full when you sign your project with us.

Which Boca Raton neighborhoods do you serve?

All of Boca Raton and West Boca: Boca West, Broken Sound, Woodfield Country Club, Boca Pointe, St. Andrews, East Boca, Boca Del Mar, Mission Bay and the coastal condos along A1A and the Intracoastal. Our shop is about 35 minutes away in Coral Springs.
